INTERNAL REGULATIONS INTERNATIONAL LUTA LIVRE FEDERATION (ILLF) PREAMBLE
These Internal Regulations define:
The organization and governance of the ILLF
Technical and disciplinary rules
Obligations of members and affiliated parties
The operation of the official competition circuit “Luta Livre Series”
The “Luta Livre Series” (LLS) is the official global competition circuit owned and administered exclusively by the ILLF and does not constitute a separate legal entity.
CHAPTER I – NATURE AND AUTHORITY Article 1 – Legal Status
The ILLF is a private legal entity established under the laws of Portugal.
The ILLF is the exclusive international governing authority for the discipline of Luta Livre within the framework of the Luta Livre Series circuit.
Article 2 – Exclusive Authority
The ILLF has exclusive authority to:
Define and update the official international rules
Manage the world ranking system
Organize continental and world championships
Issue international licenses
Certify referees and officials
Approve and sanction official events
Article 3 – Intellectual Property
The ILLF is the exclusive owner of:
The name “International Luta Livre Federation”
The name “Luta Livre Series”
All official logos and visual identity
The official rulebook
The official ranking system
Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.
CHAPTER II – ORGANIZATION OF THE LUTA LIVRE SERIES Article 4 – Definition of the Circuit
The Luta Livre Series (LLS) is the official global competition circuit organized and supervised by the ILLF.
The circuit may include:
Sanctioned national events
Continental championships
World Championship
Special events and invitational tournaments
Article 5 – Event Organization
LLS events may be:
Organized directly by the ILLF
Organized by approved promoters under contract
All events must:
Comply with the official rules
Meet safety and medical standards
Be covered by appropriate insurance
Article 6 – Event Sanctioning
For an event to be recognized as an official LLS event, it must:
Receive prior approval from the ILLF
Use certified referees
Comply with required medical standards
Submit official results to the ILLF
The ILLF reserves the right to refuse or withdraw sanctioning at any time.
CHAPTER III – LICENSES Article 7 – Athlete License
Participation in any LLS event requires:
A valid annual ILLF license
Acceptance of these regulations
A valid medical declaration in accordance with applicable laws
The license is personal and non-transferable.
Article 8 – Referee License
Referees must:
Be certified by the ILLF
Adhere to the Code of Ethics
Participate in official training programs
Certification may be suspended or revoked.
Article 9 – Organizer Authorization
Any promoter wishing to organize an LLS event must:
Sign an official agreement with the ILLF
Obtain adequate liability insurance
Comply with the official event requirements
CHAPTER IV – SPORTING REGULATIONS Article 10 – Official Rules
The official rulebook defines:
Weight categories
Age divisions
Match duration
Scoring system
Victory conditions
Approved equipment
No local modifications are permitted without written approval from the ILLF.
Article 11 – World Ranking
The world ranking system:
Is managed exclusively by the ILLF
Is based on officially sanctioned results
May be adjusted in cases of error or misconduct
CHAPTER V – DISCIPLINE AND ETHICS Article 12 – Code of Ethics
All licensed individuals agree to:
Respect opponents and officials
Refrain from doping
Accept official decisions
Protect the integrity and image of the ILLF
Article 13 – Sanctions
Sanctions may include:
Warning
Temporary suspension
License revocation
Permanent ban
Result annulment
Decisions take immediate effect.
CHAPTER VI – SAFETY AND INSURANCE Article 14 – Organizer Obligations
Every LLS event organizer must:
Maintain valid liability insurance
Provide appropriate medical support
Comply with local legal requirements
Submit proof of insurance upon request
Article 15 – Liability
Event organizers are legally responsible for their events.
The ILLF shall not be held liable for failures or negligence by independent organizers.
CHAPTER VII – GOVERNANCE Article 16 – Executive Authority
The ILLF is led by:
The President / Managing Director
Appointed commissions
The President holds executive authority.
Article 17 – Commissions
The ILLF may establish:
Technical Commission
Referee Commission
Disciplinary Commission
Medical Commission
Development Commission
Members are appointed and removed by the President.
CHAPTER VIII – DISPUTES Article 18 – Applicable Law
These regulations are governed by Portuguese law.
Any disputes shall be subject to the competent courts of Portugal, unless otherwise specified in contractual agreements.
Article 19 – Internal Arbitration
An internal mediation or arbitration procedure may be established prior to judicial proceedings.
CHAPTER IX – AMENDMENTS Article 20 – Revision
These Internal Regulations may be amended by decision of the President.
Amendments take effect upon official publication.
