1.Purpose and acceptance

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of lutalivrefederation.com and of the federation portal, together referred to as the "Platform". They form a contract between you and the International Luta Livre Federation.

By browsing the public pages, creating an account, or using any feature of the portal, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Platform.

Purchases made on the Platform — membership licences, event entries and shop orders — are additionally governed by our Terms of Sale.

2.Definitions

  • Federation: the International Luta Livre Federation, which operates the Platform.
  • Visitor: any person browsing the public pages without being signed in.
  • Member: a natural person holding, or applying for, an ILLF athlete licence.
  • Club: an organisation affiliated to, or applying for affiliation with, the Federation.
  • Regional Coach: a coach approved by the Federation to oversee clubs in a territory, validate grades and confirm promotions.
  • Licence: the personal, season-based membership issued by the Federation to a Member.
  • Season: the annual sporting period used by the Federation for licences and competitions.

3.Access to the Platform

The public pages — presentation of the Federation, club directory, event calendar, news, shop — are freely accessible without an account.

The portal is reserved for account holders. Accounts are not opened by self-service registration: they are created through the member, club and regional coach application processes, and through invitations issued by the Federation.

You are responsible for the equipment, software and internet connection needed to access the Platform, and for their cost.

4.Your account

You undertake to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information when you apply, and to keep it up to date afterwards in your account settings. Registering under a false identity, or on behalf of someone else without their authority, is prohibited.

An account is personal. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password and tell us immediately at contact@lutalivrefederation.com.

The Federation may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that presents falsified documents or information, or that is used in a way that harms the Federation, its members or the discipline. Where the circumstances allow it, you will be told the reason and given an opportunity to respond.

5.Membership licence

A licence is issued only once all of the following conditions are met:

  • your member application has been submitted and accepted;
  • the required documents have been uploaded and verified — proof of identity, a valid medical clearance, and for minors the identity document of the parent or guardian;
  • the responsibility charter has been signed electronically;
  • the licence fee for the season has been paid;
  • your affiliation to a club has been approved by that club.

The licence is personal, non-transferable and valid for the season for which it was issued. It carries a licence number and can be checked by a third party — an event organiser, for instance — from the verification page linked to it.

The licence attests to membership of the Federation for the season concerned. It is not in itself an insurance policy: unless the Federation states otherwise for a given season, it is your responsibility to hold cover appropriate to your practice.

Providing false information, an invalid medical clearance or a forged document leads to the licence being cancelled without refund, and may lead to the results obtained with it being annulled.

6.Minors

An applicant under 18 must have the authorisation of a parent or legal guardian, whose surname, first name and identity document are recorded with the application. The parent or guardian signs the responsibility charter and accepts these Terms on the minor's behalf.

The parent or guardian may at any time exercise the minor's rights over their data, and ask for the account to be closed, by writing to contact@lutalivrefederation.com.

7.Clubs and regional coaches

A club applying for affiliation undertakes to provide accurate information about its legal existence and its legal representative, to upload the required supporting documents, and to sign the club agreement electronically.

An affiliated club is responsible for the members it accepts on its roster, for the accuracy of the grades it declares, and for the conduct of its coaches and athletes at Federation events.

A regional coach is approved by the Federation for a defined territory. They oversee affiliated clubs, certify head coaches, review promotion requests and act as the Federation's relay in their region. Their approval may be withdrawn by the Federation.

Affiliation and approval confer no exclusivity, no commercial mandate and no authority to represent the Federation beyond what the Federation has expressly delegated.

8.Grades and promotions

The Federation is the sole authority for the recognition of grades within its system. A grade is recorded in a member's belt history only after a promotion request has been submitted by a certified head coach or a regional coach and validated according to the Federation's rules.

Time-in-grade and minimum-age requirements are checked automatically, but no grade is granted by an automated decision alone: every promotion is confirmed by a certified coach, a regional coach or a federation administrator.

A grade obtained elsewhere may be recognised on presentation of supporting evidence. The Federation may refuse, defer or subject that recognition to conditions.

A grade recorded on the basis of false information may be withdrawn.

9.Documents you upload

By uploading a document, you warrant that it is authentic, that it concerns you or a person you legally represent, and that you are entitled to share it with the Federation.

Documents are reviewed by authorised staff, who may accept them, ask for a better copy, or reject them with a reason. A rejected document does not block your application: you may upload a corrected version.

Uploading a forged document is a serious breach of these Terms and leads to the closure of the account and the cancellation of any licence issued.

10.Acceptable use

You undertake not to:

  • impersonate another person, a club or the Federation;
  • publish or transmit unlawful, defamatory, hateful, violent or discriminatory content;
  • extract, harvest, index or reuse the club, member or results data in an automated way, or for commercial purposes;
  • attempt to gain access to areas, accounts or data that are not yours;
  • circumvent the authentication, rate-limiting or payment mechanisms of the Platform;
  • disrupt, overload or attempt to disable the Platform or its infrastructure;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or copy the software behind the Platform.

11.Content you provide

You retain ownership of the content you provide — profile photograph, club logo, descriptions. You grant the Federation a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce and adapt that content, for the duration of your use of the Platform, solely for the purpose of operating the Platform and promoting the discipline.

You warrant that you hold the rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe the rights of a third party.

12.Availability and changes

The Federation may add, change or withdraw features of the Platform at any time, in particular to improve the service, to comply with a legal requirement or to secure the system.

These Terms may be amended. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date of last update. If a change is material, we will inform account holders by email or by a notice in the portal. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept it.

13.Liability

The Platform is a management and information tool. The Federation is liable for its own faults in operating it, in the conditions provided by law.

The Federation is not liable for damage resulting from an interruption or malfunction outside its control, from the loss of your credentials, from information declared by a club or a member, or from the content of third-party websites reached from the Platform.

The practice of Luta Livre and of grappling sports carries an inherent risk of injury. Participation in training sessions and competitions is at the responsibility of the athlete and, for minors, of their parent or guardian, under the conditions of the responsibility charter. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability which cannot be excluded by law.

14.Suspension and closure

You may ask for your account to be closed at any time by writing to contact@lutalivrefederation.com. Closure ends your access to the portal and terminates the current licence without refund.

Data linked to competitions that have taken place — entries, results, rankings, medals — is kept as part of the Federation's sporting record and is not deleted with the account. Everything else is deleted or anonymised in the conditions set out in our Privacy Policy.

15.Personal data

The processing of personal data by the Federation is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. Cookies and similar technologies are described in the Cookie Policy.

16.Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection provisions in force in your country of residence if you reside in the European Union.

In the event of a dispute, we invite you to contact us first at contact@lutalivrefederation.com so that we can look for an amicable solution. Failing agreement, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts.
